We wrapped up coordinate plane transformations just before PARCC testing. These transformations include rotation, translation, reflection.
I sat down a couple of springs ago to sketch out a Cubs logo on a coordinate plane. I took each section, transformed it, and wrote directions to get it back in place.
Next time I will probably graph the points in Groups 1 - 5 before having the students rotate the groups. I felt like they were performing an operation rather than understanding rotation.
